How is the maternity benefit computed?
Average Daily Salary Credit (ADSC) x number of compensable days. ADSC is the sum of your 6 highest Monthly Salary Credits within the 12 months before the semester of your delivery or miscarriage, divided by 180. Compensable days depend on your case: 105 days for live delivery, 120 days if you're a qualified solo parent, or 60 days for miscarriage or emergency termination of pregnancy.
How many SSS contributions do I need to qualify?
At least 3 monthly contributions within the 12-month period immediately before the semester of your childbirth, miscarriage, or emergency termination of pregnancy.
Do I still get maternity benefits for more than 2 children?
Yes — under the Expanded Maternity Leave Law (RA 11210), the benefit applies to every instance of pregnancy, miscarriage, or emergency termination, with no cap on the number of children, unlike the old law's 4-pregnancy limit.
Can the father or an alternate caregiver use part of the leave?
A mother can allocate up to 7 days of her maternity leave to the child's father (or, if he's absent, to an alternate caregiver) — this is separate from the father's own 7-day Paternity Leave Act benefit and doesn't reduce the mother's SSS cash benefit computation shown here.
