SSS Pension Calculator
Estimate your monthly SSS retirement pension based on your Average Monthly Salary Credit, credited years of service, and number of qualified dependents.
Base pension
₱8,300.00
Dependent's pension
₱830.00
Total monthly pension
₱9,130.00
Why more years of service matter more than you'd think
The formula rewards credited years of service (CYS) beyond 10 directly — every extra year adds 2% of your AMSC to your base pension permanently. Someone with 30 years of service earns an extra 40 percentage points of AMSC (20 years x 2%) compared to someone who stopped at 10, on top of the base 20% everyone gets. Staying covered — even through voluntary contributions during gaps in employment — compounds meaningfully over a career.
SSS pension calculator FAQ
How does SSS decide which pension formula I get?
SSS computes your pension three ways and pays whichever is highest: (1) ₱300 plus 20% of your AMSC plus 2% of your AMSC for every credited year of service beyond 10, (2) 40% of your AMSC, or (3) the minimum pension — ₱1,200 if you have fewer than 20 credited years of service, or ₱2,400 if you have 20 or more. This calculator runs all three and shows you the winner.
What counts as a 'credited year of service' (CYS)?
CYS is based on the number of years you have posted SSS contributions, not simply your age or years employed — gaps in contributions mean gaps in credited service. Check your SSS contribution record via My.SSS for your actual CYS.
Who counts as a qualified dependent?
Your legitimate, legitimated, legally adopted, or illegitimate child, as long as they're unmarried, not gainfully employed, and either under 21 years old or over 21 but permanently incapacitated. SSS pays a dependent's pension — 10% of your base pension or ₱250, whichever is higher — for up to 5 qualified dependent children.
How many years of contributions do I need to qualify for a pension?
You need at least 120 monthly contributions (10 years) prior to the semester of retirement to qualify for a monthly pension. With fewer than 120 contributions, SSS pays a lump sum instead of a monthly pension.
Is this the exact amount SSS will pay me?
No — this is an estimate based on the published formula. Your actual pension depends on SSS's official computation of your AMSC and CYS at the time you file for retirement. Confirm your exact figures through My.SSS or an SSS branch before making retirement plans around this number.
